Inspired by London's River Thames, these large earrings have been textured to look like ripples on water. The hand made aluminium shape, which swings in the central hole, represents the flow of the water. It is thought that the name Thames may come from the Roman word 'tam' meaning wide and 'isis' meaning water. Another school of thought is that it comes from the Sanskrit 'tamas' meaning dark. The back of these earrings has been left with a dark patina to represent this.
